Workplace Safety and Health
OPWD is proud to be a Host Site for select courses offered by the OSHA Training Institute Education Center (OTIEC) at Volunteer State Community College (VSCC).
The goal of OTIEC courses is to reduce workplace fatalities and injuries by teaching the application of OSHA standards in hazard recognition and prevention. OSHA encourages all OTI Education Centers to establish host sites to provide additional training opportunities within their respective OSHA Region.
Courses will be held at a UF Facility.

Cindy Mercado, CSP: With over 20 years of experience in Occupational Health & Safety, Cindy is an OSHA Outreach Trainer in General and Construction industries as well as Disaster Site Worker. She is currently the Lab Safety Manager with University of Florida’s Environmental Health & Safety department.
